Google will soon change the search engine algorithm in order to improve performance on mobile devices. Crucial for a high position will be the fact that the website is responsive. The lack of mobile website will affect search results and Google algorithm rank these website at the end, after responsive competitors.

An official Google Webmaster Central Blog we can read “Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
